The power of autophagy
🧬 Post 1 — The power of autophagy 🧠 Imagine the body as a system that cleans, renews and rejuvenates itself.
This is autophagy, a cellular recycling and repair mechanism for which Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi received the Nobel Prize in Medicine. 🔬 He discovered that cells can "eat" their own old or damaged parts, turning them into new energy and building material.
Thus, the body gets rid of toxins, maintains a clean environment and slows down aging. Today we know that autophagy is key in defense against:
– aging and chronic inflammation
– diabetes and insulin resistance
– cancer and neurodegenerative diseases 🌿 Nature has always had the answers — we just have to let her work. #Agaia #Autophagy #Ohsumi #NobelPrize #Science #Longevity 🌱 Post 2 — Autophagy: balance, not extreme 🧩 Autophagy is a natural catabolic process — a cellular "reset" in which the body breaks down in order to repair itself.
But for it to work in our favor, there must be conditions: ⚖️
- the body should not be under chronic stress
– there should be no systemic nutrient deficiencies
- should not be applied constantly because the metabolism adapts to low calories and goes into storage mode, not burning 🔥 When autophagy is used correctly, it creates a rhythm between catabolism and anabolism—between cleaning and building.
After a certain period, the body needs to be nourished to restore and build new structures. 💡 The most natural window for intermittent fasting is evening to morning — when the body is looking for recovery, not digestion. 💬 "Real science begins where habit ends." — Yoshinori Ohsumi 🌿 The balance between rest, nourishment and conscious restriction is what activates true cellular intelligence. #Agaia #CellularHealth #Autophagy #MetabolicRhythm #Longevity
