The Randle Cycle – Not an Enemy, but a Mirror of Metabolism (Part 1)
🧠 Randle Cycle – not an enemy, but a mirror of metabolism (Part 1) Few people have heard of the Randle Cycle, and even fewer understand it properly. This is NOT a disease.
NOT the body's fault.
It is NOT a 'metabolic bug'. The Randle Cycle is a normal physiological mechanism by which the cell chooses which fuel to use at the moment:
– glucose
– or fat When there is a lot of fat → the body burns fat.
When there is a lot of glucose → the body burns glucose. The problem starts not with the cycle itself, but with the fact that today:
– we eat too often
– too much
– overly processed food 👉 food rich in:
– fast carbohydrates
– refined sugars
– saturated and trans fats Thus, the mitochondria are overloaded, oxidative stress, inflammation occurs and the cell begins:
– to lose flexibility
– not being able to switch fuels
– to store instead of use ❗ Randle Cycle does not create the problem.
👉 It simply reveals that the cell is already damaged. 🔄 Metabolic Flexibility is the Solution (Part 2) The real cause of insulin resistance, weight gain and fatigue is not the combination of fat and carbohydrates per se, but: – chronic overeating
– ultra-processed products
– lack of movement
- lack of seasonal and daily rhythm A damaged cell requires a different repair path.
No more diets.
Not extremes.
A return to the biological order. What does this look like in practice? 🌞 Summer
– longer day
– more movement
– more sun
→ lighter, hydrating foods
→ fruits, fast carbohydrates, electrolytes, water ❄️ Winter
– shorter day
– lower activity
– need for warmth
→ denser, filling food
→ proteins, fats, root vegetables 🎯 The key is:
– to eat according to our real needs
– not to burden the body with excess energy
– to respect the seasons and the rhythm When this happens:
✔ mitochondria restore their function
✔ metabolism becomes flexible
✔ Randle Cycle from "blockage" to adaptation again 🧬 Health does not come from control, but from synchronicity.
With the body. With the energy. With nature.
